There is an acute need for a narrowband, LED ultraviolet phototherapy lamp for at-home use that provides optimal wavelengths for Vitamin D production and the skin protection offered by red and infrared wavelengths. Such a lamp could be safer, more economical, and more effective than the Sperti lamp. Moreover, coupling the UV with existing red and infrared phototherapy technologies could provide additional protective benefits to users.
The LIzard Lamp combines red/IR and UVB=309nm narrowband light to optimize Vitamin D production and minimize skin damage.
The lamp pictures is a test prototype. It is not cleared by the FDA for marketing as safe or effective for any human use.
The finished product will likely retail for just under $1000 per lamp.
